One step forwards two steps back

Are you OK?
How many of you ask the questions above without actually having an interest in the response?
Sometimes we need to take a step back, listen and digest the information infront of us.
It's OK not to be OK.
Pre lockdown you may have been on a health kick, you may have been two steps ahead on your fitness and business goals and generally winning at life. What about now?
How is your family?
Are you actually OK?
These are the questions we should be asking and caring about.
I would also like to ask...
Has your work stopped?
Are you home schooling?
All of these things may have completely flipped what we saw as 'normal' and when you thought you were ahead, you are now behind again. That's OK.
One thing I have learned is you can't get stressed about things outside of your control!
You can't change the fact there is a global pandemic.
You can't change the fact you have been furloughed.
You can't change the fact you are now a parent, teacher, business person, cook, cleaner and carer.
Put your energy into things you can control!
What goes into the shopping trolley...
How much alcohol you are consuming...
What time you get out of bed...
Doing a workout ...
How often you scroll through social media...
These are all things IN your control and YOU have the ability to get ahead again.
How badly do you want it?
Is that 10 seconds of satisfaction from a glass of wine or sweet treat worth the feeling of sadness afterwards?
Is skipping a 45 minute workout worth the lethargy you feel sat on the sofa all day?
Take back control of your life, get two steps ahead again.
